Previously known as the Elipse Balloon, the Allurion gastric balloon is a soft balloon made of polyurethane material, which is placed in your stomach during your short appointment visit.
During their 15-minute outpatient visit, with no need for anaesthesia 0r endoscopy, the patient swallows a capsule containing the deflated Allurion Balloon and a thin tube. An x-ray will confirm that the balloon is in the stomach, and then the balloon is filled with 550ml of liquid via the tube. Another x-ray confirms that the balloon is completely filled in the stomach. The tube is gently removed, and you can then leave the clinic.
Like any other weight loss journey, you will need to work with the Balloon to get the absolute most from it. Hopefully with our help and support and your interaction with others on the soon to be launched Facebook Group, will enable you to keep on track and help you along your fabulous weight loss journey.
